Is a Subaru.

But the body and chassis is Toyota.

Didn’t it momma tell you that It’s what’s on the inside that counts? and that’s Subaru
![]() 07/27/2016 at 19:07 |

Well, Toyobaru ... and have you ever considered one of these for yourself?

What's the Zoidpinion on these?

I see what you did there.
But that is a Scion badge on the bonnet so technically neither a Toyota or a Subaru.

I heard a Subaru engineer saying they did most of the work and Toyota only came for meetings.

Ah. Well there's always car loans...

That one’s actually branded a Scion is it not? So no matter what you call it, it’s not a Toyota

Chassis is Impreza, many suspension components are shared

Let it age for 25 years, preferably in a field somewhere..

The Gt86/BRZ/FRS is a clean sheet design with 0 parts commonality with an existing Subaru design (exluding parts bin switches etc.). It’s a design which features influence and components from both Subaru and Toyota.

It’s a Subaru heart getting it’s blood from a toyota injection system.
![]() 07/27/2016 at 19:51 |

Toyota. It’s what makes a Subaru, a Subaru.

I'm wanting an sciyobaru more and more...

I would also like something nice and shiny, so I bought $11 sunglasses instead.

This or a A60 Celica GT-S?

Find a used one?
And I actually talked a friend out of buying one. She didn’t know it was RWD, and told me she needs traction. I suggested an Imprezza, she bought a Jetta.

It’s a cool car and I would buy one with scion badges because scion, but who actually owns the car? Who does it really belong to, toyota, subaru, or scion?

Many suspension components are shared. Sure they have different Subaru part numbers, but control arms, struts, and braking components are functionally identical and interchangeable (I’ve done it on mine). The whole car started on an Impreza test platform.

Furthermore, drive-train mounting, sub frames, chassis structural elements are almost exclusively Subaru design philosophy.

You paid 6 dollars too much

That tag is SO true here in the US. Other than the soon-to-be-an-86, the only other interesting things Toyota sells here are the Tacoma, Tundra, and 4Runner...though personally I’m also fond of the Prius C (though I wish it had it’s JDM name, Aqua, instead...).
